Diet is incredibly personal. The most determining factor for weight loss is diet adherence. Our patients have the most success on their weight loss journey when they have some flexibility with the foods they enjoy. Indeed, our approach seeks to manage chronic health problems and find alternatives to junk food, but we also prioritize making your nutrition plan fit into your life.

Ogden Clinic Medical Weight Loss is not a one-size-fits-all practice. Upon becoming a patient, all patients receive a consultation to discuss their eating habits and struggles, the types of foods they enjoy, and any special diet considerations.

Most of our patients do well starting their weight loss journey with a low carb approach. Carbohydrates have the biggest effect on our insulin, and regulating blood sugar and metabolism is a large part of most patients’ initial treatment. After patients get into the swing of things: Managing chronic conditions, adapting their habits, and seeing changes in their health, we’re happy to make adjustments to their nutrition plan. Nutrition modifications should be discussed with one of our medical weight loss experts. They are happy to discuss a few different diet styles that could suit your needs, including:

·       A plant-based diet

·       Gluten-free or dairy-free

·       The Mediterranean diet

·       A higher protein or carbohydrate intake

·       …or another type of eating you may be curious about.
